Tropicana Resort Atlantic City: More Than a Casino Jenn, February 13, 2017 Sharing is caring! Share Tweet Pin The Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City is more than a casino. The Tropicana Resort has just undergone a $90 million dollar renovation in just two years, and it looks fantastic. Take a look at all you can do in this upbeat and vibrant resort – without ever putting your money on a table in the casino. From oceanfront dining to over a dozen nightlife venues there is something to do from day into night. Take a look at all The Tropicana Resort has to offer–without ever doubling down. Ladies, please tell me you take girls getaways! How else can you stay sane with all of the responsibilities? Don’t ever feel guilty about taking a little “me time” to cut loose and enjoy time with friends. Living only 2.5 hours from Atlantic City, my sister and I decided it was time to enjoy a getaway. Even if it was just one night, we still had the ability to do whatever we wanted without the kids. Tropicana Resort: More than a Casino The Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City offers many amenities for the ultimate girls getaway, from a spa to ocean front beach access. You will enjoy the time to relax and rejuvenate. Take a look at everything you can enjoy – without gambling – in Atlantic City at the Tropicana Resort. I bet you will love it. Accommodations During the renovations the Havana Tower, located in The Quarter, was completely remodeled. I love this location because it isn’t directly off the casino; instead, the location is right in the middle of great shopping and dining. For a casino resort, the rooms are very large. Many I have visited in the past have small rooms, but this is not the case at The Tropicana. This is ideal for a girls weekend because, let’s face it ladies, we bring a lot more stuff with us than the guys do. The bathrooms also offer two sinks, a big bonus when traveling with friends. Dining Dining options are endless at the Tropicana. Offering 19 restaurants and a grab and go marketplace, there is surely something for every palate. We dined at Il Verde, the resort’s signature Italian restaurant. I have not had a meal this excellent in quite some time. The hand rolled ravioli was exemplary to say the least. My sister and I certainly overdid ourselves with a stunning antipasto platter, signature salads, pasta and polenta. After that meal, I was ready for bed, not a night out. If you are looking for something more casual for dinner, try Chickie’s and Pete’s, located on the Casino Floor. This sports bar offers burgers, pizza, their famous crab fries and even seafood pots. We dined here for lunch the next day and were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. If you are looking for late night treats, the Zeytinia gourmet marketplace is open 24 hours and offers grab and go sandwiches, chips and sweet treats. Full disclosure – after a fun night, I ate Juniors cheesecake at 1:30 a.m. in my room, thanks to the marketplace. Nightlife What’s a girls getaway without dancing? When it comes to night life, the Tropicana is king, with over a dozen bars and night clubs to choose from. Thursday is a slower night and a really great time without the crazy crowds. If I were 15 years younger, I am sure I would love the weekend night life here. Ivan Kane’s Kiss Kiss Night Club is a brand new club on the scene at The Tropicana. This is certainly much different from any other night clubs in the resort. It is a burlesque club, but in the most tasteful way. Honestly I couldn’t stop watching these uber talented girls. Looking for something a little less risque? Head to Boogie Nights, the ultimate 70’s and 80’s nightclub. It was actually 90’s night and we had a blast reliving all the songs from high school and our twenties. Relaxation After you recover from a night out, make a spa appointment to get all the toxins out. The Bluemercury Spa is located in the Tropicana and offers a full service spa experience from massages, facials and pedicures. In addition to offering their celebrated skincare treatments, Bluemercury’s highly-skilled therapists also perform the brand’s world-renowned oxygen facials, therapeutic couples massage, and a special selection of signature luxury body treatments. Wind down and relax, you deserve it! Shopping Remember when I said that you’ll have so much to do, gambling will be an afterthought at The Tropicana? I was being serious. Enjoy a bit of retail therapy in The Quarter in the fantastic boutique shops, or sit back and enjoy Starbucks chatting with friends. Beach Days While our visit was in January we fell in love with the fact that you can walk 10 yards out the door and you are on the beach. The Atlantic Ocean offers endless hours to sit back and relax while soaking up the summer sun. If you need a break from the beach head to the rooftop pool. Be sure to take a walk down the famous Atlantic City Boardwalk for other dining, shopping and fun in the area. No matter if you visit with one friend or an entire group there is something for everyone at The Tropicana Resort. That is a sure bet!
