The Hotel Hershey has been sitting on a hill above Hershey, PA since 1933. It is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and is the epicenter of all things elegant. I have never considered this resort before, because I simply didn’t know how much it offered for kids.
I am a Sweetest Families Ambassador for Hershey Parks and Resorts, my stay was complimentary, however all opinions are my own.
The Hotel Hershey
With it’s signature green roof and Italian style fountains, you’ll see hints of Europe around this beautiful property. It was Milton Hershey’s way of bringing what he loved in his travels back home.
Upon arrival, a smiling valet greeted us and directed us to the front desk. We arrived around noon, and check-in was a breeze, very quick and informative. The desk clerk informed me of park hours, shuttle bus times, and discount park tickets that can be purchased as a resort guest. We also received a hotel map, resort guide and full size Hershey bars.
This resort is generally always at capacity, so you probably wont get into your room until late afternoon, especially in summer months.
As we found our way to our room, I noticed that the walls of The Hotel Hershey are lined with historic photos of a by-gone era. There are neat artifacts also throughout the hotel, from the days when Mr. Hershey ran Chocolate Town.
The rooms are well-appointed for a historic hotel, with two queen beds, a desk, mini-fridge, in-room safe and a large closet. Plenty of room for a family of four. The do have cottages available for families of five or more, and king beds for couples. Plenty of options when choosing your accommodations.
Offering five restaurants ranging from grab and go, to casual and upscale you are sure to find something to please your family at The Hotel Hershey.
This upscale dining room was designed by Mr. Hershey himself and has no corners, so there is never a bad seat to be had. You can grab small plates and a cocktail at the iconic Circular bar, or a formal dinner overlooking the vast gardens. We enjoyed Sunday Brunch, and it was a vast buffet of fresh fruits, eggs, omelettes, waffles and more. As we departed we even found a character meet and greet in the fountain lobby.
Adjacent to the lobby this fast casual dining spot is great for grab and go options. Open from 6.30 am – 10 pm, it’s perfect for before and after exploring the parks and resort area.
Located behind the main building this dining establishment prides itself on local farm to table cuisine. They serve lunch and dinner daily. I felt this was the most family friendly, as there is a game room adjacent to the dining room in the same building.
Open for lite fare each evening, this lounge is warm and inviting. Be sure to have a signature Hershey’s Chocolate Martini when you visit.
Open for lunch and dinner this restaurant serves delightful Italian fare. I can’t speak on the food but there was a wait to be seated on Saturday night, so it must be good!
