Sunrise Woods Retreat- Escape to Pigeon Forge, TN Jenn, August 17, 2022August 17, 2022 Sharing is caring! 11 shares Share10 Tweet Pin1 Sunrise Woods Retreat is a quiet escape in Pigeon Forge, far enough from the hustle and bustle of Parkway yet close enough to enjoy all of the attractions in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Sunrise Woods Retreat LOCATION Located on a quiet road in Pigeon Forge, Sunrise Woods Retreat is a welcome escape from the busyness of Parkway. It’s located only 3-minutes from fishing access on the Little Pigeon River, a 5-minute drive from downtown Pigeon Forge, and a 15-minute drive from Gatlinburg. Once I got my bearings, I was easily navigating my way around. It’s a very central location with two direct routes to Parkway. You are only 10 minutes from a Super Walmart or Kroger to get your groceries for the week. There are ample places to dine as well in the area, so skip the cooking! Be sure not to miss the Applewood Farmhouse, it has the BEST fried chicken in town and is only 5 minutes from the cabin. ACCOMMODATIONS This cabin offers an open floor plan, it can sleep six but I think four is plenty with the open concept. As you enter the cabin you walk into an open living room with high ceilings and lots of natural light. It features a flat screen television, and you can watch cable or log into your favorite streaming channels on the Roku stick. In the cooler months it’s the perfect cozy spot for a warm fire and movie night. Beyond the living room you will see a full kitchen, stocked with all you need to make yourself at home for the week. There is a full sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and dishwasher. All you need to bring are the groceries! The master bedroom is off to the left, and features a king size bed and gorgeous sunken jacuzzi tub. Remember when I said it was an open concept cabin? There is no door between the bedroom and shared spaces, but there is some privacy with the loft stairs. There is also a full bathroom with shower, sink, and plenty of storage for all your toiletries. No need to bring towels, or linens as they are all provided. Head upstairs to the loft bedroom and you will find a queen size bed as well as a television and foosball table. This is the perfect space for the little ones. OUTDOOR AMENITIES The front porch of the cabin features a swing, and it’s a quiet place to relax and read a book or listen to a podcast while surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors. The cabin is equipped with wi-fi so you can even stream your favorite shows and watch on the porch. The back deck is surrounded by forest views, and has a charcoal grill, table for four and a hot tub! We really enjoyed coming back after a day exploring Pigeon Forge and relaxing in the hot tub. It’s a great place to unwind. Sunrise Woods Retreat was a wonderful stay in the Smokies, the only downside is that there is no washer/dryer to do laundry. I personally don’t like doing laundry on vacation, so it didn’t matter to me, but it could be a deal breaker for some. HOw To Book This cabin and 9 other properties are run by local resident , Josh. I loved that when I asked for the shortcut to Wears Valley he knew exactly what I was talking about. He also sent me a guide before I left with all his favorite local places to eat and attractions to enjoy. You can book directly on Josh’s Cabins website, a small locally owned business is exactly how I like to support places I visit. If you are looking for a larger property to rent, Buck View Lodge offers 3 bedrooms, a pool table, hot tub, washer and dryer and so much more. Looking to be close to Cades Cove and Smoky Mountain National Park? They offer properties there as well, Clearwater Forest Retreat and Emerald View Retreat are perfect. I really cannot say enough about my experience working with Josh, his cabin was exceptionally clean and he was available for all of the questions I had once I arrived. He is an Airbnb Superhost, and it absolutely shows. Travel
