4 Unique Places to Spend Spring Break in the USA Jenn, March 7, 2017February 1, 2021 Sharing is caring! 1 shares Share Tweet Pin1 Spring Break is coming–and we have four great places to visit! Sure you can go back to your regular destination, but where is the fun in that. Explore new destinations and see what United States has to offer. When you think of Spring Break destinations you may think of Beaches or Disney World. There are so many fantastic cities to explore in the US that make ideal Spring Break destinations and wont break the bank. Take a look at my four favorite cities to explore. Unique Spring Break Destinations 1. Washington D.C. This is my top choice because there are so many FREE activities in DC. From the Smithsonian Museums to the National Zoo, you can plan for a full day at each and its costs nothing to visit. Be sure not to miss the National Archives and see the most important documents that helped form our country. As an avid reader I always visit the Library of Congress, it is stunning. The National Mall is lovely in the spring as the cherry blossoms bloom–here you can see all of the amazing monuments from the Lincoln Memorial to the Vietnam Wall. All are very moving in their own ways. Skip the large chain hotels and stay in a quaint boutique hotel, and explore the local neighborhood. No matter what you decide to do on your visit to Washington DC it is sure to be a memorable one. 2. Austin, Texas Austin is a vibrant and fun town in south Texas. From a vibrant music scene to a foodies paradise you can please the entire family. Food trucks line the streets, and that means cheap eats! Always a plus for us when we travel. Be sure to explore the street murals that are all over Austin, they are amazing. Texas can get hot, take a dip in the Barton Springs Pool (it is entirely spring fed). Looking for history? Visit the Capital building, it sits on 20 acres and offers free tours daily. 3. Huntsville, Alabama The Space Coast may be in another state but Huntsville is home to Space Camp! If you have a little astronaut in your family this is the place for you. The Space and Rocket center is a full day of fun. Finish up your visit at Supper Heroes for dinner. 4. Navarre Beach, Florida Escape the chaos of crowded beach towns during spring break. Located on the West Coast of Florida you are sure to find relaxation here. All of the shops and restaurants are local and this is the anti tourist trap. Adventures Unlimited offers kayak, tubing and zip line tours. Visit the Gulf Breeze Zoo for a relaxing day off the beach. Be sure not to miss Lagerheads, a hole in the wall dining spot overlooking the Gulf. Melt away your worries with a cold beer and fresh fish, straight from the gulf. No matter where you decide to go for Spring Break this year, be sure it’s somewhere your family can connect and make lifelong memories. Travel Travel Tips family travelspring breakusausa travel
