Paul, Apostle of Christ movie is coming to theaters on March 23, 2018. While there are many great men in the Bible, I have to say Paul is up there when it comes to faith through trials. Yet, he never lost sight of GOD and the goodness he promised him. Debuting in theaters nationwide the week before Easter, you will want to see the story of Paul.
Paul, Apostle of Christ
PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is the story of two men. Luke, as a friend and physician, risks his life when he ventures into the city of Rome to visit Paul, who is held captive in Nero’s darkest, bleakest prison cell. But Nero is determined to rid Rome of Christians, and does not flinch from executing them in the most horrific ways possible. Before Paul’s death sentence can be enacted, Luke resolves to write another book, one that details the beginnings of “The Way” and the birth of what will come to be known as the church.
Bound in chains, Paul’s struggle is internal. He has survived so much—floggings, shipwreck, starvation, stoning, hunger and thirst, cold and exposure—yet as he waits for his appointment with death, he is haunted by the shadows of his past misdeeds. Alone in the dark, he wonders if he has been forgotten . . . and if he has the strength to finish well.
Two men struggle against a determined emperor and the frailties of the human spirit in order to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spread their message to the world.
Biblical Accuracy or Cinematic Drama?
Creators of PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST went to great lengths to be biblically authentic in details of Paul’s life and journeys. Then they created characters to interact with him weaving drama throughout.
“We committed to create a film true to the biblical account of Paul’s life but also one that is dramatic and engaging,” said Producer T.J. Berden. “The trials faced by early Christians and their faith and bravery in spite of them will amaze audiences.”
Letters From Paul
For the 40 days of Lent, believers around the world unite in recognizing Christ’s sacrifice by replicating His 40 days in the wilderness. This year, prepare your heart to celebrate and remember Christ’s completed work on the cross by turning to one of the most prolific writers of the New Testament, Paul the Apostle. Though written 2,000 years ago, his writings still resound with truth for the modern reader, as he encourages Christians to know the one in whom they believe.
You can follow Letters From Paul for the next seven weeks online.
If you think the Bible is just a “story”, if you don’t think that Christianity is more than a religion but a way of life then you need to see this film. Paul led an incredible life of faith, and never sought revenge for those who were against not only him, but his Lord and Savior. Paul wasn’t born into a sinless life, he was far from perfect, as he persecuted Christians before becoming an Apostle.
I cannot wait to see the story of Paul onscreen, he was a great man of GOD and lived out the scriptures daily. There is redemption for everyone, a man who once hated Christians, because a mighty warrior for the on true living GOD.
