New Year’s Eve Ball Drop in New York City Jenn, November 19, 2015 Sharing is caring! Share Tweet Pin New York City Vacation Packages has announced that they will once again host their annual New Year’s Eve Times Square Ball Drop Gala on December 31, 2015. Ring in the New Year starting at 8pm and celebrate until 12:30am, on the 23rd floor of the Convene Center in the heart of Times Square. Avoiding the crowds is the whole reason New York City Vacation Packages created this annual event on the night of the ball drop…so guests can watch the famous Times Square ball drop on New Year’s Eve, in person, from an exclusive Manhattan party suite – high above the crowds. Most travelers who come to NYC on New Year’s Eve do not realize they get stuffed into small pens in Times Square which are monitored by the NYPD. The NYPD start piling revelers in at 42nd street and once the pen is filled up, they then move back a street to the next open pen, and so on until they are filling up pens close to Central Park. There is no food or drinks allowed in the pens and no easily accessible restrooms nearby. In fact, if someone is traveling with a group and they leave the pen to get some refreshments or to use facilities, they will get put into the next open pen and will not be able to get back with their group until after the streets start to clear around 12:30am. Meaning you could be watching the ball drop from up to 10 blocks away. Oh did I mention how cold the city can be on New Years Eve, I am sure it’s a total blast freezing to death for 10 hours or more holding a spot. NYCVP saw a need for an indoor event where you can drink, eat and use restrooms, all while still experiencing all of the glitz and glamour of the ball drop in person. With this event, guests can enjoy an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, dinner & dessert buffets and entertainment while ringing in the New Year! The New Year’s Eve specials that most of the public will see live on television will also be playing inside on flat-screen TVs while a DJ plays music for dancing as guests wait for the ball to drop. You can capture funny and silly moments in a souvenir photo booth while they wait or get lost in the performance of a roving magician (it is also a family friendly event, not very common for New Year’s Eve in NYC). When the big countdown begins, guests will get to watch the ball drop in Times Square from this private party suite with a constant birds-eye view of the ball drop and the crowds below, plus a view of the Central Park fireworks after midnight. For one of the most iconic events in the world on New Year’s Eve, NYCVP created a party that makes you feel like a VIP, skipping the packed-in-like-sardines crowd down on the street…all while watching from 23 stories above. It is one of the more reasonably priced New Year’s Eve events in the city, costing $699 without hotel accommodations. The host hotel is the Sheraton New York Times Square, with several other hotels available. For more information visit www.nyctrip.com or call NYCVP at 877 NYC-Trip (877 692-8747). If New Years Eve in Times Square is on your bucket list this is the perfect way to celebrate!
