Medieval Times Florida Review: Chivalry, Food and Fun Jenn, November 1, 2017 Sharing is caring! Share Tweet Pin Medieval Times Florida is located in Orlando, and offers a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. This dinner and show is perfect for kids of all ages, as we took our one and three-year old boys. Take a look with me and explore all that the Medieval Times Florida castle offers. Medieval Times Florida As you arrive, the stand alone Orlando Castle’s large walls are set off by a moat and drawbridge, really setting the tone for your fun evening ahead. This Castle was the first Medieval Times’ in North America, opening in 1983. The Castle doors open 75 minutes prior to show-time, be sure to leave ample time if you want to explore the village and torture chambers on the castle grounds. You will also need time to see the pre-show in the great hall of the castle. Once inside the castle, your are sorted into a team and given a colored crown. Six Knights compete during the Battle of Champions and you will be cheering for one of them as you witness epic battles of steel and steed. We had the honor of cheering on the Green Knight during our visit. How did he fare in the tournament? Well I guess you have to keep reading! About 15 minutes into the show, his Majesty’s royal feast begins. Oh and did I mention you’ll be using your hands to eat? You are first served a delicious tomato bisque soup with garlic bread for dipping. The main course is an oven roasted chicken, corn on the cob and roasted potatoes. The portions are large, to say the least, and you may need a take home bag at the end. As dinner begins the Royal Falconer shares the flight of the royal falcon, soaring over the heads of the King’s tournament guests. The kingdom is also home to a prized collection of Spanish Stallions that are high-spirited, courageous and tempered for battle. The kingdoms Master of Horse, presented several dazzling displays of horsemanship. Once the Battle of Champions begins, be ready to cheer on your Knight. A competition that can be seen nowhere else begins with jousting, ring catching and much more. My three-year old, Cooper, cheered his heart out. He proudly waved his flag during the entire tournament, we have never seen him so intent. Once our Knight was in the final contention for tournament champion, his cheers became louder! The green Knight came out the victor for our tournament, and my son could not have been more happy. Visit Medieval Times Florida The Orlando castle is located in Kissimmee, just a short drive from the theme parks.
