Hersheypark in the Dark is a seasonal event, held in The Sweetest Place On Earth. This family friendly event is perfect for kids of every age, or the kid in you! From trick or treating, to roller coasters and fun characters this is the perfect fall outing.
Hersheypark In The Dark 2020
Hersheypark in the Dark is a sweet not scary, Halloween celebration located throughout Hersheypark, Hershey’s Chocolate World, and ZooAmerica. It offers 13 trick or treat stops, character photo opportunities, and with the exception of water rides, almost all attractions are open. Event Dates
This year will be the longest event yet! The park is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, beginning October 3 and ending November 1, 2020
Hershey’s Chocolate World
Begin your adventure at Hershey’s Chocolate World where the kids can get their trick or treat bags, and make their way around to the three candy stops. You may have to enjoy a classic attraction to find one of the candy stops!
We arrived at Chocolate World at 4.30 pm to enjoy it before the park opened to guests. Remember you will need to make a reservation to enter, as there are capacity limits.
We also found a DJ outside and some fun photo ops for this year!
Hersheypark
Once you finish up at Chocolate World, take the 3 minute walk to the park entrance. You may notice it’s a a little different now, as Chocolatetown is open!
We visited on a Friday night, and with the shorter park hours (5-9 pm) we found the crowds to be very low! There were virtually no waits for any attractions, and the longest wait was 30 minutes for the brand new coaster, Candymonium.
Sweetest Families Tip: If you have yet to ride Candymonium do it at night, you won’t regret this amazing coaster in the dark! Make sure you also experience lights-out rides on Laff Trakk, Lightning Racer Wildcat, and Comet.
Once the kids were done with the attractions we headed to The Boardwalk, as that is the new home of Treatville. I am a big fan of this location, it was really spread out and there seemed to be more decorations added. Kids have ten stops for their favorite Hershey treats!
ZooAmerica: Creatures of the Night
If your kids are fearful of the dark, this may not be the event for them, ZooAmerica goes completely dark and all you have is your own flashlight to guide you. With that said, I LOVED this experience because we saw many animals that are nocturnal moving and having fun. The wolves were especially playful, and they are normally in hiding if you go during the day. ZooAmerica admission is included with your Hersheypark admission, so be sure not to miss this creepy, crawly night in the zoo.
Sweet & Savory Treats
No trip to Hersheypark is complete without something sweet! During Hersheypark in the Dark you can get your pumpkin fix, if that’s not your thing there are some great savory fall options. You can only get them for a limited time, so don’t delay.
Pumpkin King Size Shake – Pumpkin pie milkshake swirled with caramel and topped with chocolate dipped pretzels and pumpkin roll.
Warm Apple Pie Mini Donuts -Mini Donuts topped with warm apples, Hershey’s caramel sauce drizzle and graham cracker crumbs.
Caramel Apple OOLA Bowl– Seasonal Caramel Apple Bowl made with organic acai base, caramel, pacoca and apples. Pumpkin Spice Granola and local Apple Cider are also available.
Hops & Harvest is a special menu from Spring Creek Smokehouse and Dietz & Watson Country Grill restaurants unique to each weekend. Plus, enjoy fall beer and cider flights in the Yuengling 1829 Patio & Pavilion.
Quick Tips:
