Christmas at Gaylord National

Gaylord National Harbor is home to the annual holiday celebration, Christmas at Gaylord National. We seem to have turned this into an annual tradition for our family, and this year was no different. After hosting no holiday events in 2020, I was so happy to be back this year as their guest for a little Holiday cheer to kick off the season.

Christmas at Gaylord National, runs until December 31 ,2021. Here you will enjoy beautiful holiday displays, take part in a magical Christmas Village full of family activities and walk through scenes from your favorite Christmas movies. You can also have photos with Santa, enjoy Story time with Mrs. Claus and delight in a sweet treat from the Holiday Sweet Shoppe. The Holiday Merriment is unending at the Gaylord this year!

1. The Greatest Story Stage Show

The birth and life of Jesus is “the greatest story ever told.” This beautiful stage show allows you to experience it through the eyes of six international storytellers sharing a multicultural celebration of everlasting faith, hope, and love.

Complimentary seating is available first come, first served or you can purchase guaranteed stage area seating in advance for $12.99 per person.

2. Ice bumper cars & Ice Skating

We had so much fun spinning, and bumping into one another along the banks of the Potomac! Be sure to do this at night, as the Harbor is beautiful lit up.

If you want to try out your skills on skates, you can glide along with family and friends as well.

Tip: Be sure to pack hats, gloves, & scarves as both activities take place outside.

3. Snow flow mountain

Have you ever gone tubing indoors? Here you can! Head to the Christmas Village and race the family to the bottom.

Cost: $20.99 per person

4. Christmas tree lot Pop Up Bar

Mom and Dad can take in the festivities while sipping fun cocktails such as The Naughty Elf or a Mistletoe Margarita.

5. Snowball build and blast

Build and toss real snowballs to boost the power of the snowmaking machines and earn points in this experience at Snow Factory, the mechanized, snowy play space. My kids got super competitive over this one!

6. I Love Christmas Movies!

Oh my gosh this was my absolute favorite!! I am a sucker for all five of the featured films, and it felt like we got to go behind the scenes and walk through them. Experience favorite scenes from five beloved films, including: The Polar Express™, Elf™, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation™, A Christmas Story™, and The Year Without A Santa Claus™. Around every bend is a magical scene from each film.

We walked thru the Candy candy cane forest, met Heat Miser and lit up the Griswold’s house! If you love these classic movies, this is a must do event.

When the sun goes down and the atrium lights up be sure not to miss #LIT Light Show With laser lights, indoor snow and holiday music, it will certainly get you in the spirit of the season.
