DoubleTree Orlando at SeaWorld: Won’t Break The Bank Jenn, March 15, 2019March 16, 2019 Sharing is caring! 0 shares Share Tweet Pin Looking for a hotel that is centrally located to all of the Orlando theme parks? Look no farther than the DoubleTree Orlando at SeaWorld. This beautiful 28 acre resort, is within walking distance to SeaWorld, less than two miles from Aquatica & Discovery Cove, and only seven miles from Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World. The best part is, it won’t break the bank! DoubleTree Orlando at SeaWorld Review Located on I-Drive, is the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld, however once you walk into the lobby you forget you are on I-drive and are transported into a beautiful resort. I was pleasantly surprised by this resort, not by the accommodations because DoubleTree is a great brand, but because it has much more than the typical I-drive hotel feel. Once you pass through the lobby you are greeted by lush landscapes and beautiful fountains. The resort is made up of several two-story buildings and a tower high-rise building. Because of its proximity to the Convention center the resort is frequented not only by families but business travelers as well. With this resort being an I-Drive Trolley stop, you don’t have to worry with Orlando traffic if you want to visit I-Drive attractions. There is also a shuttle direct to the SeaWorld parks. Resort Rooms Choose from a variety of spacious rooms with modern amenities and distinctly Florida decor. Resort rooms are clustered together in two-story buildings connected by landscaped walkways, bursting with tropical flowers; while rooms inside the 17-story tower offer great views of downtown Orlando and surrounding parks. I stayed in a two queen tower room, it was quite large and would comfortably fit a family of four, or two friends sharing a room. The bathroom offered a shower/tub combo with a large sink. There is also a desk, and two chairs. The room had a view of SeaWorld and at night you could see the fireworks from other parks. If you want the option of having a mini-fridge and microwave be sure to book a room with a wet bar. In Room Amenities 42” LCD HD TV Video Games featured on TV Clock Radio w/ MP3 Connection Newspaper (Monday–Friday) Sweet Dreams Sleep Experience Coffee Maker Mini Refrigerator (select rooms) Microwave (select rooms) Iron/Ironing Board Hairdryer Safe Dining There are plenty of on-site dining options available at the Doubletree Orlando at SeaWorld. From quick bites, to wonderful table service dining in Laguna you will surely satisfy your taste-buds. Barefoot Bar– Located at the Lagoon Pool, this outdoor bar features frozen drinks, sandwiches, full kids menu and appetizers. Might I suggest the No Tan Lines frozen cocktail, it’s sure to satisfy on a hot Florida afternoon. The Market– Serving Starbucks coffee, pastries, made to order deli sandwiches and grab and go items this is a great place to stop when you are trying to get out to the theme parks. Sonoma Lobby Bar– Gather at Sonoma, the lobby bar, for a premium selection of wines, craft beers, and cocktails, If you are looking for a late night bite to eat they have a wonderful selection of small plates and tapas. Laguna- This is the resort’s sit down dining restaurant and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast I suggest starting your day with their bountiful buffet. I was pleased to find made to order omelettes, fresh yogurt & fruit, bagels & lox as well as other assorted items. For dinner, you really cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. We enjoyed the Cuban Egg Rolls, Sweet Citrus Glazed Salmon and Shrimp Tacos. The food is fresh, and full of flavor. I would go out of my way to have dinner here, if I were local. You can dine al-freso or in the main dining room. Recreation Feel free to take a day off from the hustle and bustle of Orlando and relax at the resort. There is plenty to offer a full day of family fun. The resort pool is the feature pool offering a waterfall feature and the Barefoot Bar. There are family fun activities during the day, music and in the evenings dive-in movies at this pool as well. You can also play mini-golf, chess, table tennis and pool while at the resort and it’s included in your resort fee, so no charge! I know I only mentioned one pool, but there are actually two pools on resort property. If you want a quiet escape from the Feature Pool, visit the other pool in the back of the resort, it offers a hot tub as well. There is also a fitness center, and a children’s activity center. As I said, there is no shortage of fun to be had on a non-park day.
