Beach Club Resort Review: Walt Disney World Deluxe Accommodations Jenn, May 18, 2017September 30, 2019 Sharing is caring! Share Tweet Pin Beach Club Resort has always been on our Disney bucket list. During a recent visit to Walt Disney World we were finally able to stay! Did it live up to the hype? Is the pool really that amazing? Take a look with me and let’s find out. Beach Club Resort We arrived early and upon entering the lobby, it brought about a sophisticated ambiance mixed in with memories of a by-gone era at the shore. The lobby is decorated in muted blue and green tones, giving it a classic feel. The impressive chandelier has large seahorses and is draped with a string of pearls. We were greeted by the Captain, and as he pin traded with the girls I was able to check-in. With My Disney Experience check-in is seamless at Disney. Meet the Captain in the Lobby each morning at Beach Club. Our room wasn’t ready, so we checked our bags for the day with bell services and went to Epcot. In under thirty minutes we were parked, checked-in and off to a park! A Room With A View Our room was considered a garden view room, but we had a rather good view of Crescent Lake. Maybe Pixie Dust upgrade, maybe just that room one will never know. Beach Club has recently finished a full refurbishment, and gone are the muted brown tones. The rooms are vibrant and bright now. They are not the largest rooms in the deluxe category but we had ample space for five. With two queen beds and a day bed this worked well for us, as my teenage daughter had her own bed each night. The bathroom is set up in such a way that the vanity is separate from the shower and toilet area. Which is nice for a family (or anyone) traveling together, because it allows for showers to be happening at the same time others are getting ready. That’s a plus in my book. You also have a mini-fridge, coffee maker and desk. We also had a balcony, it wasn’t huge but it was nice. Not all rooms have balconies, it is hit or miss. If you want to be able to sit outside request a first floor room, they have patios. Stormalong Bay Undeniably Stormalong Bay is the most talked about pool at Walt Disney World. The pool is complete with a pirate ship water slide, a lazy river, and a zero entry sand beach. If your kids aren’t strong swimmers but want to be in the water, the sand beach is the place for you. I would highly recommend taking an entire day to enjoy the pool at the Beach Club. Our girls loved it so much they wanted to leave the parks each day to go swimming! Dining at the Beach Club The biggest draw at the Beach Club is the Cape May Cafe morning character breakfast with Mickey and Pals. You do need a reservation so don’t expect to be able to walk up. I have done this meal in the past and it was a ton of fun. You can also grab quick service items at Beach Club Marketplace. In the mornings they serve Mickey Waffles! Every morning should start with Mickey Waffles. Don’t forget your Kitchen Sink sundae at Beaches and Cream! They also serve burgers and casual fare if you aren’t in the mood for ice cream. Getting to the Parks The allure of the Beach Club Resort is that it’s adjacent to a Disney theme park, namely Epcot. You can walk or take a 10 minute ride on a Friendship Boat. Hollywood Studios is a 20 minute walk as well. So this resort actually is close to more than one park, and that is a huge plus. You will only need to take the Disney Bus Transportation to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. That to me is a HUGE perk. Enjoy this view on the ride to Epcot or Hollywood Studios Protect Your Magical Vacation Do you always pass on vacation protection when you go on vacation? I am absolutely guilty of this as well, it’s another expense to add to an already costly dream trip. I just learned the Allianz Travel Insurance provides plans that cover a years worth of travel! Umm hello, where has this been all my life. I take at least three Disney trips a year, and stay in deluxe resorts. I want that extra piece of mind. The Annual Deluxe Plan (best for frequent travelers) includes the following: · Trip Cancellation · Trip Interruption · Emergency Medical and Dental · Emergency Medical Transportation · Baggage Delay · Baggage Insurance · Collision Loss Damage · Travel Accident · Travel Delay · 24-hour Emergency Assistance If you visit Disney often you may want to take a closer look at the plans offered, you just never know what may happen! Beach Club Overall Now that the Beach Club has been checked off the bucket list, was it worth it? I would say yes with a few minor inconveniences. The resort is HUGE! If your room is on one of the far exteriors it will take a good 10 minutes to get to the lobby. Aside from the marketplace dining is lacking as you need a reservation for both Cape May Cafe and Beaches and Cream, so you can’t just walk up and eat. That to me is an imposition as a paying guest. We did love the rooms and the pool, and there is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. We will certainly be back for another stay at the Beach Club!
