Disney On Ice presents Celebrate Memories
I have been taking my kids to Disney on Ice since they were three years old, it’s such a fun time celebrating with our favorite friends. Miss.M is now 11, and I think this may have been our last year.
The most fun thing about Disney on Ice is that each year the theme changes, this year it is Celebrate Memories. This ensures that kids are entertained year after year, and gives us a reason to keep taking them back. Each year, shows are updated with new characters, songs, and stories. There is nothing like a Disney On Ice performance, if you are a Disney loving family you wont want to miss it.
This years show may have been my favorite, in all of the years we have been going. The show opens with Walt talking, and that was it for me. I had goosebumps and knew we were in for a good show.
New Interactive Projection Screen
A large projection screen has been added this year, and it really adds a new experience. The screen is connected to a “Mousepad” that helps to control the show, with the help of two emcees. It is very interactive for the little ones, as they ask them for help with trivia, high five them along the way to the next scene and get them to start the “Mousepad” for the next show.
New Characters
Celebrate Memories introduces us to a few new favorite characters. We were treated to Dory and Hank from Finding Dory, the silly team of emotions from Inside Out, and my favorite Moana! We also got to see Sorcerer Mickey perform The Dancing Brooms from Fantasia, as an old school Disney fan this was my favorite.
Tried and True Characters
Would it be Disney on Ice without a Frozen set? It’s a huge display of lights, pyrotechnics and all of your favorite songs from the film. Little girls were in awe, and singing Let It Go at the top of their lungs. We also had a visit from Woody and Pals, and our favorite set of the night, Disney Princesses. This was absolutely amazing because they showcased their skating ability with a lot of tricks. My favorite Princess was Rapunzel and Eugene (Flynn Ryder) because they both twisted up in a ribbon and soared above the crowd. This year we got to see Merida as part of the Princess caravan and we have never seen her at Disney On Ice before.
Overall Thoughts
Hands down Disney On Ice presents Celebrate Memories is my favorite show. All of the new sets, plus the nod to Walt Disney in the beginning really added a Disney fan vibe that I have never gotten before. The skaters are really talented, and showcase some amazing stunts. If you have never been, it’s time to make Disney on Ice a family tradition, because it’s a sing-along, toe tapping good time.
