Dear Orlando, the sun will come out tomorrow Jenn, June 15, 2016October 25, 2017 Sharing is caring! Share Tweet Pin I love you Orlando, not for your world-class theme parks but for the people. Orlando is a hodge podge of people from all over the world, and they love being there. I rarely come to know people in Orlando that don’t have a great back story, or don’t truly love being there. Orlando has afforded me an amazing career from home. I have made great friends and fantastic memories there. I am connected to Orlando even though I don’t live there. I know many reading this also have the same type of connection to this great city. In the past 5 days Orlando and it’s residents have had to endure massive amounts of grief. On Friday night; a sick and cowardly man who later took his own life shot and killed Christina Grimmie at a post show meet and greet. She was a bright star on the rise and a selfish sick man decided to extinguish it long before it was time. This hit the you-tube and entertainment community hard. Then the unthinkable, a terrorist attack on a nightclub in downtown Orlando early Sunday morning. This one, this one is just too much. There are a confirmed 49 people dead as part of this hateful act. The killer claimed allegiance to ISIS and this is the 2nd largest terror attack in US History. I am sick and saddened by this, all of it. I don’t want to raise my daughters in a world where we have to live in fear of attacks from terrorist. Keep your hatred among your fear mongering selves. Thank you Jet Blue for giving free flights to family, for all that have donated blood and the countless donations to the fund the Mayor started. Orlando we stand behind you. And last night a two-year old baby was attacked and drowned by an alligator on the beach of the Grand Floridian. I feel sick to my stomach about this one. Disney is a special bubble of a place, you don’t worry about anything bad ever happening there. I am praying for this family as they prepare to do something no family should ever do. I know the world isn’t a perfect place, far from it. But this is all too much for one community to be able to handle. Orlando, the sun will come out tomorrow. Stay strong and know you are loved.
