Escape To The Caribbean This Winter Jenn, December 21, 2019 Sharing is caring! 0 shares Share Tweet Pin When the wind chill is below zero and the need for more than two layers of clothes is required, it’s time for an escape. For me that escape is preferably in The Caribbean, sitting in the glowing sun, with an umbrella drink. Living on the East Coast, it can get pretty nasty from December-March, and sometimes you just have to leave the winter weather behind. Having visited many islands over the last five years I wanted to share a few of my favorites for the perfect winter escape. This post was written in partnership with Beaches Resorts, all thoughts are my own. Caribbean Winter Escape The Caribbean is made up of hundreds of amazing islands, and while I haven’t been to all of them, I do have a few favorites. My ultimate Caribbean winter escape is to Beaches Resorts with my kids, it’s an all-inclusive paradise, where you truly have no worries. Although Beaches is geared towards families, it is also great for a girls getaway! Turks and Caicos This may be my favorite island chain, the white sands and turquoise beaches never cease to amaze. From stunning villas and secluded hideaways, to all inclusive resorts for families you will find the perfect place to call home on the island. Turks and Caicos is made up of 40 islands but only 8 are inhabited. Providenciales is the most well known of the Turks and Caicos Islands offering a wide range of hotels, restaurants, attractions and facilities. Grand Turk and Salt Cay offer a glimpse into Caribbean history with great Bermudian architecture and a rustic charm as well as some of the best diving in The Caribbean. Middle Caicos and North Caicos represent the best of the environment, with lush green woodlands, the largest cave network in the Caribbean, and a vast range of plant and birdlife. South Caicos is the center for fishing, with lobster and conch exported from the islands, the historic Cockburn harbor and the natural phenomenon of the boiling hole. This small, friendly island offers many secluded beaches with awe inspiring views of the turquoise waters and surrounding islands. No matter which island you choose, you will never want to leave. Jamaica Another of my favorite islands is Jamaica. From its friendly people, to gorgeous beaches and waterfalls this island never disappoints. The searing smell of jerk over the fire, familiar reggae beats, and rum drinks, that is Jamaica to me. No place on earth provides the range of attractions and diversity that can be found in Jamaica. This island is alive, and you can feel it from sun up to well after sun down. Be sure not to miss Dunns River Falls in Ocho Rios or the stunning sunsets in Negril. Go sway to the Jamaican vibe! The Bahamas The Islands of the Bahamas is an archipelago with more than 700 islands and thousands of cays spread out over 100,000 square miles of ocean, starting just 50 miles south east of the coast of Florida. The warm and friendly people of The Bahamas, along with hotels and tourism partners, from Bimini to Nassau and Paradise Island, The Exumas to Inagua, are ready to welcome you with open arms. With the lure of a big city and the ease of tropical utopia, Nassau, the capital of The Bahamas, is a bustling metropolitan hub full of culture and modern amenities. To the north lies Paradise Island. Offering 685 acres of pure euphoria, developed almost exclusively to delight and accommodate visitors. The island boasts resorts, hotels, restaurants, shops, nightlife, a golf course, an aquarium and a casino. Kids will delight in the stories of the pirates, who inhabited these islands as they tried to take over this Caribbean island. No matter what island you choose to visit for your Caribbean winter escape, it is sure to delight your family and leave lasting memories.
