British Colonial Nassau- A Perfect Port Day Jenn, September 1, 2024September 1, 2024 Sharing is caring! Share Tweet Pin British Colonial Nassau is the perfect place to unwind, and just steps from the Port of Nassau, Bahamas. For nearly a century, British Colonial has been interwoven into the fabric of Nassau. As a beloved local landmark, it is a place where Bahamian past and present merge. I was an invited guest when I was in Nassau on my Royal Caribbean cruise, however all opinions are my own. British Colonial Nassau If you have visited here in the past, forget what you knew- the previous property closed in 2022 and was reopened in February 2024 under new ownership and a $50 million dollar renovation. The British Colonial is a 15 minute walk from your ship, and easy to access. Located at 1 Bay Street, you are just steps away from the entrance to the port and the famous Straw Market. Set on the edge of the Harbor, the British Colonial Nassau gives picture perfect views of the ships in port. Resort Day Pass British Colonial offers day passes for cruise guests, you simply check-in at the Heritage Gift Shoppe for your wrist band and then you have full access to the day guest amenities. During the peak season, these do sell out so I would highly suggest booking in advance. Pricing is $66 for adults, $33 for children age 3-12 and children 3 and under are free. What’s Included Access from 9AM – 5 PM Outdoor pool Zero Entry Pool Private Beach access Pool & Beach lounge chairs/umbrellas (first come, first serve) Towel service Non Motorized Watersports Complimentary Wifi Great For Families When we walked outside, the attendant let us know that we could choose a spot anywhere as they are first come first served. You can choose from the beach or the pool (we opted for both), and they will set up your umbrellas for you. We noticed many families were already there, enjoying the resort. It doesn’t have the party vibe that many of the other resorts offer, there was music but that just added to the ambiance. The zero entry pool is also perfect for little ones especially toddlers. The beach is large and offers ample space for both lounging and swimming. There is a lifeguard on duty and you can also get any non motorized watersports and lifejackets from them as well. The kids had a ton of fun on the paddleboards, kayaks and water trikes. The water is crystal clear, and free of any heavy sea grass. Being so close to the Harbor, many ships come and go, and you may even catch a few pirates sailing by! This resort is immaculately clean, I never saw a piece of trash anywhere, as they were always cleaning up after guests. When the walkway to the beach started to get covered in sand, they hosed it down for guests. The Red Pearl Grille is located adjacent to the pool serving food and cocktails. While we didn’t dine here we did have a few drinks, and they were STRONG, which is the only way they know how to make them in the Bahamas. Day pass guests do receive 10% off, so be sure to show your wristband. This was the perfect day for my family, as some prefer the pool versus the beach, and everyone was able to relax and enjoy the day under the hot Bahamian sun. We will certainly be back again! Travel
