Bowes Signature Candles- An Unexpected Gem In Disney Springs Jenn, February 16, 2021February 16, 2021 Sharing is caring! 46 shares Share46 Tweet Pin Bowes Signature Candles is a shop located in the Marketplace Co-Op, at Disney Springs. If you haven’t had the pleasure of stopping by, and grabbing some magical scents, you are really missing out. A place that I have casually browsed before, is now a Disney “must do”, for me each visit. Bowes Signature Candles This not so small Florida candle company began with one man, the stores namesake, Dave Bowes. At a young age, Dave was fascinated with what went into candle making on his island home of Jamaica. Dave is now an artisan who discovered his passion for candle making in 2002. His company now boasts over 110 inspired scents sold at Disney Springs and shipped worldwide through the website. Small Batch Candles Made In Florida Dave operates out of a small production center in Orlando, and himself along with eight other employees, make all products by hand in house. He has come a long way from making candles in his home, and selling them from the trunk of his car. Dave takes great pride in his product, and he shared with me that he can only make seven hand-poured candles at a time because the scent will fade if you make them in large batches. If you are lucky enough to catch Dave at the co-op, be sure to talk to him, he is the epitome of small business, and dedication. His signature scent is the Lemongrass Ginger. Why? He shared with me, that it reminds him of the early morning tea his grandmother would make that he would share with her in their backyard in Jamaica. When you visit the store area in the co-op you will find a large display area that includes Classic Candles, Magical Memories Collection, Wax Melts, Diffuser Oils, Reed Diffusers, Fragrance Linen Sprays, Gift Sets, and Scented Hand Sanitizers. Magical Memories Collection Have you ever been on a Disney attraction and thought, “I would love this as a candle?”. We all have, including Dave and that’s how the Magical Memories Collection was born. When I smelled the Sweet Street candle I thought I was walking into the Main Street Confectionary. While you can’t bottle Disney magic, this comes about as close as you can get to taking a little bit home. My daughters bathroom now smells like her favorite attraction, thanks to the wax melts! Make Your Own Candle experience Aside from selling a full line of home products, Bowes Signature Candles also offers a really fun class where you can make your own candle. The cost is $25 per person, and is led by one of his candle makers. You will choose your own scents, colors and even design your jar! His team is very energetic and makes this a fun way to spend an afternoon. The whole process takes about one hour, and you leave with your candle that day. You really need to add this to your “must do” list when you are at Disney Springs. I will be returning with my daughters for sure. Next time you are at Disney Springs make sure to stop by Bowes Signature Candles in the Marketplace Co-Op. The shop is open daily from 10 am- 10 pm. Disclosure: I was provided a candle making session for the purpose of featuring my experience. All opinions are my own. Disney Springs
