Something about New Years Eve screams finger food, dips and cocktails. I am personally a HUGE fan of all things dip related. Here are my Top 3 go to recipes that would be a perfect New Years Eve appetizer!
1 cup Mayo (fat free, light or regular)
1 cup sour cream (fat free, light or regular)
1/2 cup of chopped bacon (I won’t lie sometimes I add more, because BACON!)
1/2 cup lettuce
1 cup of chopped tomatoes
Mix all but lettuce and tomato, Chill for at least 30 minutes. Top with lettuce and tomato and just a little more bacon..
Serve with pita chips/veggies/baguette slices, there isn’t really a wrong way to serve this treat
Buffalo Chicken Dip
12 oz cooked chicken, chopped ((i often use a rotissere chicken from the market)
1 (8oz) block cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup Franks Buffalo Sauce (NOT hot sauce)
1/4 cup blue cheese dressing
1/4 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 green onion, chopped
Preheat oven to 350.
In a mixing bowl combine chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, dressing, buffalo sauce, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Pour mixture into a lightly greased 8×8 baking dish. Top the dip with chopped green onion and remaining cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly. Serve with celery or tortilla chips.
Maryland Crab Dip (I’m a Maryland girl, crab dip better be at a New Years Eve party)
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese softened
1 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Ground Mustard
1 pound lump crabmeat
1/4 cup cheddar cheese shredded
Preheat oven to 350° F. In a medium bowl mix cream cheese, mayo, old bay and ground mustard until well blended. Add crabmeat and toss gently. Spread in a 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and additional Old Bay.
Bake 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serve with assorted crackers, french bread or a crudite platter.
