Last Minute Disney Dining: My Go To Restaurants

A Disney World vacation is synonymous with planning. You have to choose your hotel months ahead of time, the attractions you don’t want to miss, and even make reservations to dine with your favorite characters up to 180 days in advance. For some it’s completely overwhelming, and not everyone wants to plan a trip six months or more in advance. I have gone to Disney with two weeks notice, and I didn’t miss out on fantastic dining.

Last Minute Disney Dining

Every once in a while you can find last-minute cancellations less than 24 hours before arrival, but I wouldn’t depend solely on that for your must do dining experiences. If there is somewhere you absolutely don’t want to miss, be sure to make that reservation 180 days before check-in.

Here are my go to restaurants for a last-minute trip to Disney World. This includes dining in the parks, resorts and at Disney Springs. You have plenty of options for great Disney dining without planning months in advance.

Nine Dragons- Epcot

Located in the China Pavilion of the World Showcase, you can usually always get a table without a reservation. I don’t know why this restaurant isn’t more popular, as we generally enjoy it. It’s a nice place to sit down, and enjoy a nice dinner without breaking the bank. I love the General Tso’s Chicken Bao Buns!

The Wave..Of American Flavors- Contemporary Resort

This is, in my opinion the most underrated restaurant on Disney property. Located in The Contemporary Resort, The Wave serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. When you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the parks this is a welcome respite. Or you can kick off your day enjoying the breakfast buffet, the sweet potato pancakes and key-lime eggs benedict are by far my favorite items on their menu. You will of course find the always popular Mickey Waffles on the buffet as well.

SANAA- Animal Kingdom Lodge

This restaurant is wildly popular, yet it always seems to have openings. I often think its location is why it isn’t more packed. Many guests (myself included) will go out of their way to enjoy the famous Bread Service, which is a meal in and of itself. With that you will get five breads, and nine accompaniments for dipping, if you haven’t had it, take my advice and make it a must do on your next Disney vacation.

Bongos Cuban Cafe- Disney Springs

Offering a little taste of Havana in Orlando, Bongos Cuban Cafe is a fun place to dine. Owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, they wind together great food and music. The best part is there is rarely a long wait, and the food is fantastic. The cuban slow roasted pork is not to be missed!

Maya Grill- Coronado Springs

Looking for a fabulous tex-mex meal? Maya Grill is a favorite of my families and has the best fajitas at Disney. If you are at the parks just hop on the bus to Coronado Springs for what is surely to be a memorable lunch or dinner.

Olivia’s Cafe- Old Key West

This nautical-themed eatery has the friendly, familiar feel of a Key West hot spot.  A must-visit spot for breakfast, Olivia’s Cafe serves up the most amazing Banana Bread French Toast. If you are looking for lunch or dinner this will surely hit the spot, be sure to finish your meal with a Key Lime Tart.
