Hersheypark Camping Resort: Budget Friendly Family Fun Jenn, June 27, 2021June 27, 2021 Sharing is caring! 157 shares Share139 Tweet Pin18 Hersheypark Camping Resort is the perfect budget friendly option, if you are looking to stay at one of the official Hershey Hotels. From deluxe cabins, to tent camping, no matter what type of accommodations you choose, you will surely have a sweet and budget friendly escape. Hersheypark Camping Resort I will be the first one to admit I am not a camper, no tents and roughing it for me. Needless to say when I learned that the Hersheypark Camping Resort has deluxe cabins I had to see what it was all about. I would say I am definitely more of a glamper, as in, I need electric and air conditioning when I camp. I have always assumed the campground was strictly tents and RV camping. Boy was I mistaken. The campground is a stones throw from the world-class theme park, yet it is nestled in the woods just off the main road. I also couldn’t believe all of the fun amenities the campground offers guests. Make sure you plan for a day to enjoy all of the fun at the campground. During our last visit we stayed in a 2 Bedroom Deluxe Log Cabin. These are very limited, if you want to book this cabin you need to book well in advance of your visit. There is a minimum 3-night stay during peak months and holidays. These cabins are located in the Coaster Crest area of the campground, which is situated close to all of the resort amenities. The cabins are relatively close together, but they are completely private, offering your own porch with picnic table, and fire ring. 2 Bedroom Deluxe Log Cabin When you enter the cabin you are in the kitchen and living room area. The kitchen is modern and offers all of the amenities you need to cook and make yourself at home. It comes with basic kitchen necessities, however if you want special pots/pans you may want to bring your own as well as pot holders. There is also no oven, so keep that in mind when you are packing. You do however have two burners, and a microwave. The living room is fairly basic, with a sofa, dining table and small television. It does the trick, you are camping, you should be outside anyways. If you pull the dining table out there is a bench that seats two more. The bathroom is standard size and offers a stand-up shower, sink and toilet. It gets the job done, you are camping after-all, so no need for all the bells and whistles. There is a small cabinet next to shower for storage. Towels are not included in the cabin, be sure to bring them from home, as well as a blow-dryer and other amenities you may require. The 2-bedroom deluxe cabins offer one bedroom with a queen bed and dresser, and the other houses two sets of bunk-beds with storage drawers underneath. You will need to bring your own sheets, blankets and pillows as they do not come with the cabin. It can sleep up to 7, I wouldn’t suggest more than two adults, as the close quarters keep privacy to a minimum. 1 Bedroom Deluxe Log Cabin During our most recent visit we stayed in a 1 bedroom deluxe log cabin. These are a great option as well! It offers all of the same amenities and similar layout to the 2 bedroom, the main bedroom is bunks that sleep up to 5 and the living room has a full size sleeper sofa. These cabins are in multiple locations, we stayed in C25 in Midway Meadow as it is close to pool and recreation. Cabin Amenities TV with cable and DVD unit in living room Ceiling fan Refrigerator Microwave Kitchenette appliances: 2 burner stove top, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee pot (filters not included). Serving items for 7 people: plates, bowls, mugs, plastic cups, forks, spoons, knives, and steak knives. Miscellaneous items: frying pans, sauce pan, manual can opener, measuring spoons/cups, dish drainer, and serving spoons. Dining table with benches/chairs Dresser Porch with picnic table Outside fire ring The cabins are simple and rustic, but do have indoor plumbing, air-conditioning and/or heat. They offer a fantastic budget friendly option and you get all the perks of an official Hershey Resort. Recreation While you are only 3 miles from the theme park be sure to enjoy the resort. There is nightly fun for guests each weekend, from a magician, to dance parties and movie nights. You may even see your favorite Hershey friends during special events. Two swimming pools and a kiddie pool (open thru Labor Day) Indoor game room Multiple playgrounds Basketball, volleyball courts, and shuffleboard courts Horseshoe pits We enjoyed our afternoon by the pool, and it was fantastic. There are ample tables and chairs for families. If you have little ones the playground is a great place to get out some energy! It’s close to the pool so you can go back and forth easily. There are also swings nearby as well. Camp Store There is a camp store on-site that offers basic items such as ice, firewood bundles, grab and go food, pantry items and more. We were able to get all of our supplies for Smores’ without having the leave the resort. Resort Benefits When you stay at the Hersheypark Camping Resort you get special guest only perks. From early park access to special pricing on area attractions, it is worth it to stay in an official resort. Up to 3.5 FREE extra hours to Hersheypark Memorial Day – Labor Day with Preview Plan 1-hour early access with Sweet Start Preferred Pricing to Hershey Gardens Preferred Pricing to The Hershey Story’s Museum Experience Preferred pricing to ZooAmerica® FREE Shuttle to the theme park We loved the Hersheypark Camping Resort, and cannot wait to make a return visit. If you are looking for a family escape, without staying in a hotel the Deluxe Cabins are absolutely the perfect choice. Camping Pennsylvania Travel
