Paddlefish Restaurant at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World made its debut this February. I have been drooling over the amazing menu items I have seen popping up on social media. During my last visit to Disney I was able to finally give this all new restaurant a try. And it did not disappoint!
Often times when I visit Walt Disney World I bypass many of the fine dining options because my kids don’t want to sit through a long meal. Now that my oldest daughter is 17, I can send the kids off to explore Disney Springs and enjoy more adult dining options. Last week while visiting Disney, I gathered two friends and we enjoyed Happy Hour at Paddlefish. We had the intention of dining on the rooftop terrace, but the 97 degree temps derailed that. Don’t worry, I will be back to enjoy the rooftop bar.
I can say without a doubt we had the best seat in the house. We were seated by a large window that overlooked all of the Marketplace at Disney Springs, and we could see the amphibicars pass by. This location was the next best thing to being outside. You can request a dining location, but it is not guaranteed.
Tip: Make your reservation for as soon as Paddlefish opens for lunch and/or dinner, this will help get you a table with a view. If you want to just enjoy apps and drinks head to the rooftop terrace for the view.
We knew that we were there for happy hour, so drinks and apps but once we saw the menu we had second thoughts. Paddlefish offers one of the best menus I have seen at Disney Springs in a while, and I have dined at many other locations. From fresh seafood, to perfectly grilled steaks you can full-fill any craving. While we dined from the dinner menu, you can also enjoy lunch or brunch at Paddlefish.
Drinks abound on the Paddlefish menu, from fine wine to craft beers and special cocktails. I chose the sangria and it was wonderful, a fruity blend of red wine and fresh fruit. it certainly hit the spot on the hot Florida evening. On my next visit I plan to dig a little deeper into the cocktail menu.
The dinner menu at Paddlefish is amazing, did I tell you that? My group decided to stick with starters for this visit, as the Florida heat didn’t give us a huge appetite. However, we did order three items, so we certainly had eyes bigger than our stomachs. Oh and the bread–yeah don’t miss the bread. Soft fluffy rolls served with cinnamon butter, I could honestly make a meal off the bread alone it was that good.
What We Ate
The top-selling starter is the crab fries, and now I know why. Perfectly cooked fries, topped with lump crab and a zesty remoulade. This is a meal itself, seriously the serving size is a huge bowl. Crab Fries and Bread= The perfect meal for me.
Next up was Calamari, oh so tender and yummy. There are also fried sweet peppers in the basket as well. The coating is perfectly crispy and adds a wonderful texture to the calamari.
Lastly we ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes. I am a sucker for these on any menu. The pickled watermelon and queso fresco give them a fresh flavor. You get three per order, so definitely a light way to start the meal.
Is your mouth-watering yet? Everything was cooked to perfection that we ordered, and the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. If you are looking for a fine dining experience while in Disney Springs look no further than Paddlefish. If you want to bypass the fine dining, you can visit the rooftop bar for happy hour and enjoy some of the amazing food we did.
Be sure to make reservations well in advance for this restaurant, as it does get full during peak time in Walt Disney World. Be sure to add Paddlefish to your Disney MUST-DO list.
